RTI Acquires Safety Services International, LLC

RTI is pleased to announce the acquisition of Safety Services International, LLC (SSI).  SSI is a team of exceedingly experienced accident investigators from industry and government. Formed in 1999 by John Purvis, (former long-time Director of Air Safety Investigation at Boeing) and Kevin Darcy (Purvis’ Chief Investigator), SSI rapidly expanded with the addition of top investigators formerly with the NTSB, FAA, Boeing, and regional and major airlines.

For several decades, many of SSI’s experts have led government and industry teams’ efforts in the investigations of major aviation disasters. The elite SSI team specializes in developing safety programs, studies, and audits, in addition to serving as consulting and testifying experts in large and small aircraft mishaps.

With experience ranging from home-builts to super-sonic transports, rotary and fixed wing, small to large aircraft, and piston to jet, the SSI team adds considerable experience to RTI’s extensive core group of experts, and will contribute greatly to the benefits we offer our clients.

Mr. Darcy, who was the managing partner of SSI since its inception, will now fill the position of director of RTI Forensics, LLC, heading up our new San Francisco office. RTI welcomes him and the entire SSI team.
